How it looks
It doesn’t glow.
It catches light.
E Ink has no backlight. Like paper, it reflects the light around it. The brighter the room, the sharper it looks, and the easier it is on your eyes. Not the push of a lit screen. The calm of a print.
Like paper, it needs ambient light to be visible in the dark.

The display shows four colors: black, white, red, and yellow. Fine dot patterns render light, shade, and color, for a look that belongs to E Ink, not to a full-color phone screen. The app previews the 4-color conversion before you transfer, so you choose knowing exactly how it lands.

How the display holds its image
Set it once.
It stays.
E Ink moves colored particles with electricity. They stay where they land, so holding the image costs nothing. Take the case off your phone and the image remains. Power goes in only during an update, over NFC from your iPhone. No battery. Nothing to charge.
